God’s Love

Hello, today my sister and I are doing our post together on Proverbs 24:20 which says:

“24 for the evildoer has no future hope,
and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.”

Solomon is saying that for those who sin, there is no hope. He is saying that if anyone is evil or wicked, there “lamp” will be snuffed out. In other words, Solomon is saying that God puts His wrath on anyone who disobeys Him and does wickedly.

Unfortunately, we all sin. So according to Solomon, we should all have God’s wrath upon us. We should all perish in hell. So what saved us from that wrath? Jesus did. Jesus took upon Him all the sins of the whole world, and then He took God’s wrath upon Him.

Even though it seemed as though all was lost; because everyone sins no matter how hard we try not to, and we deserved the wrath of God. But there is hope; there is someone who loved us so much that He took all of that punishment and wrath upon Himself. That someone is Jesus; God’s very own son.

Even though we could not obey God’s law, He still loved and loves us! He did not make the law just so that He could destroy us; He made it because He is a just God and He cannot stand anything that is not right. It might seem to human brains that God was “stuck” but of course God cannot be stuck; instead He planned this to happen all along so that He might show His love for us.

And it is the greatest example of love that ever could be seen; God sent His holy, perfect son to die in our place. Because God loves us so much we are saved, and now we are His sons and daughters; all because of Jesus sacrifice for us!

Whoever Believes In Jesus

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 5:24-25 which says,

““Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.”

Jesus is talking to the Pharisees here and He is telling them that whoever believes in Him and His Father (God) will have eternal life. Jesus is also telling them that a time will come when the dead would hear the voice of the Son of God and that all who heard would live. That just made the Pharisees want to kill Jesus even more, they couldn’t believe that Jesus claimed He was the son of God not to mention the fact that He was doing miracles on the Sabbath. The Pharisees wanted to kill Jesus because of all that He had done.

But what did Jesus mean when He said that whoever believes in Him would not be judged and would have eternal life? We were sinners who had all of God’s wrath on us and we were going to die with all of God’s wrath on us. But Jesus came down from heaven and He took all of God’s wrath and our sins on Him and He died on the cross for us. If we trust in Jesus as our sacrifice then we will be saved from our sins, we will have eternal life in heaven and we will cross over from death to life. Jesus has cast our sins as far as the east is from the west. Jesus died for us because He loved us, and now if we trust in Him we will live.

We should trust in Jesus, if we believe in Him and repent of our sins then we will have life. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and if we accept Him then we accept life. Jesus loved us enough to die for us, we should trust in His sacrifice. When Jesus died on the cross He spread His atoning blood on us and now when God looks at us He sees Jesus’ sacrifice and we are free of punishment. We are free of punishment because Jesus took it on Him, we should trust in Him.

We should trust in Jesus as our savior and we should share the Gospel with others. Unbelievers need to hear the Gospel so that they can be saved, so that they can live. We should tell them the Gospel so that they can repent of their sins and because a son or daughter of God. We should give the Gospel to others so that they can cross over from death to life through Jesus. Jesus makes us clean by His blood if we just repent of our sins and trust in Him. If we have already become a Christian then we should help others to become clean through Christ.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven like a lamb as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins on the cross, thank You Jesus for dying for us. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf. Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven to die for our sins, thank you Jesus for all that You have done for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Your Son Will Live

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 4:50-52 which says,

50 “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed. 51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. 52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”

In this passage a man came up to Jesus and asked Him if He would heal the man’s son, Jesus said “Go, your son will live.” Then the man believed that his son was alive and started for home. On his way home a servant came to him and said that the man’s son was alive. The man (who was an official) asked his servant when the boy got well and the servant told him that it was one o-clock in the afternoon. Then the official realized that as soon as Jesus said the boy was well, the boy was well.

Isn’t that amazing, that when Jesus told the official that the boy would live that was when the boy got better. But Jesus did something that was even more amazing than any miracle. We were sinners with our sins and God’s wrath on us and we were doomed. Jesus was and is perfect and He was and is the son of God (and God Himself) but Jesus came down from heaven and lived a perfect life and then He died on a cross for our sins. Jesus came down from heaven because He loved us and He took all of our sins and all of God’s wrath on Him so that we could live. He died on a cross for our sins! Jesus actually loved us enough to die for us.

We should trust in Christ because He died for us. Jesus told the official that His son would live, but God’s son died for us so that we could live and so that we could become sons and daughters of God. But Jesus rose from the grave on the third day and then (after He appeared to thousands of people) He ascended into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us. We should trust in Jesus so that we can live, so that we may be able to be sons and daughters of God. We should believe in Jesus.

We should believe in Jesus and we should be like the servant that brought the good news to the official. We should be servants of the Lord and we should bring good news to unbelievers, we should bring them the good news of the Gospel. We should also be like the official. We should trust in what Jesus says and believe Him, the official believed in Jesus and He knew that when Jesus said something that was when it came true. We should be like those to people, we should share the good news of the Gospel with unbelievers and we should believe in what Jesus says.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven and dying for our sins. Thank You Jesus for dying for us so that we could live. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf. Thank you Jesus for dying for us so that we can be sons and daughters of God. Thank You Jesus for everything that You have done for us. Thank You Jesus for being our sacrifice so that we could live.

Honor and glory

Hi, God’s word for me today is in 2 Peter 1:17-18 which says,

“He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”[a] 18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.”

Here Peter is remembering the when he was with Jesus on the sacred mountain. Peter is telling us that Jesus received honor and glory from God the father when the father said “this is my Son whom I love, with Him I am well pleased”. Jesus was lifted on high, He had honor and glory given to Him.

But Jesus also humbled Himself, in fact He humbled Himself so much that He came down from heaven to die for our sins on a cross. Jesus was and is the son of God (and God Himself) and He was (and is) perfect, but He humbled Himself enough to come down from heaven and die for our sins so that we could live. Jesus sacrificed Himself so that we could live, He died for us so that we wouldn’t have to.

We should accept Him as our savior, we should believe in Him and be saved. He died for our sins so that we could live, we should accept Him as our savior. He made us sons and daughters of God, we should accept Him as our savior. Jesus came down from heaven and died for our sins, then on the third day He rose again and then ascended into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us. We should accept Him as our savior so that we can live. Jesus humbled Himself and the father lifted Him up.

We should also lift up Jesus, He is our savior and we should exalt Him and put ourselves down. If God chooses to do a great work in us then we shouldn’t take the glory for it, we should lift up our savior because He is the one doing all the work. Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins, we should exalt Him on high. We should also worship Him because of what He has done for us, we should praise Him because He died so that we could live. We should humble ourselves, Jesus humbled Himself and so should we.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven to die for our sins, thank You for loving us enough to atone for us. Thank You for rising on the third day and ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf. Thank You for humbling Yourself so much that You died to atone for our sins so that we could live. Thank You for making us sons and daughters of God, please help us to exalt You and to humble ourselves.

Are you trusting in Jesus.

Faith

Hi, God’s word for me today is in 2 Peter 1:1 which says,

” 1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours.”

Through the righteousness of Jesus we have received faith, that’s what Peter says has happened to Christians. We have received faith because of Jesus, but what has Jesus done for us that lets us receive faith? Well first we should understand a little bit more about what faith is, the “hall of faith” gives a description.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (NIV Hebrews 11:1)

Now that we have the definition of faith we can see how Jesus gave us faith. We were dead in our sins and we didn’t have faith and we didn’t have any hope. But Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins so that we could live, He came down from heaven and died on a cross for us so that we wouldn’t have too. He loved us so much that He sacrifice Himself for us. Thank You Jesus for giving us faith through Your righteousness.

We should accept Jesus as our savior, we should accept the faith that He gives us through His righteousness. He was righteous and that was how He atoned for our sins perfectly, no one else could. No one and nothing could have saved us from our sins except Jesus. He came down from heaven to die for our sins and to give us faith, He gave us assurance in what we do not see and confidence in what we hope for. We should accept Jesus as our savior so that we can live and so that we can be saved from our sins.

Christians have faith, we have a precious faith but unbelievers don’t. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can be saved and have the precious faith that Christ gives us through His righteousness. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can become righteous in God’s sight and so that they can be free from the bondage of sin. Believers have a precious faith and unbelievers don’t, so we should try and help give them the precious faith that the Gospel gives us. We should share the Gospel with them so that they can be saved.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven and dying for our sins so that we can live. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to give us Your righteousness, thank You for giving us faith and hope. Thank You for coming down from heaven and dying like a criminal on a criminals cross so that we could live. Thank You for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us. Thank You Jesus for making us sons and daughter of God.

A refuge for His people

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Joel 3:16 which says,

16 The LORD will roar from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem;
the earth and the heavens will tremble.
But the LORD will be a refuge for his people,
a stronghold for the people of Israel.”

The Lord was a stronghold and a refuge for His people, for Israel. When they were in trouble they could run to Him and He would save them. At the time the Israelites were in slavery but now the Lord was their refuge and they could run to Him as their stronghold. The Lord is also saying that when the day of the Lord came that His people would be able to run to Him.

But the Israelites are not the only ones who are God’s people now. You see it doesn’t matter if you are an Israelite or not and the reason is because Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins. Who is Jesus and why did He die for our sins? Jesus was (and is) the son of God and the reason that He died for our sins was so that we wouldn’t die with God’s wrath on us. We were sinners and the Lord hates sin so Jesus came down from heaven and made us sons and daughters of God. That is why you can be anyone and still be a son or daughter of God.

We should accept Jesus as our savior because He died for our sins to atone for us. It is amazing that the son of God would come down from heaven to atone for sinners, He could have stayed in heaven and we would have gotten our deserved punishment, but Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins on Him and then He died for us. We should accept Him as our savior so that we can be saved from our sins.

We should also share the Gospel with others so that they can know the Gospel and be encouraged in it. We should read our Bibles and pray to God so that we can talk to God and read and listen to His voice. We should go to a good Gospel church so that we can be encouraged in the Gospel too. We should believe in Jesus as our savior and we should run to Him in times of need, He is our refuge and our strong tower and we should flee to Him.

Thank You Jesus for letting us trust in You, thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You came down from heaven for us. Thank You for dying on the cross to save us from our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for, after being in the grave for three days, on the third day rising again and then ascending into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us. Thank You so much Jesus for loving us enough to die for us and for us to trust in you.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV John 3:16)

Jesus loved us enough to die for us, thank You Jesus?

Rend your heart

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Joel 2:12-13 which says,

12 “Even now,” declares the LORD,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

 13 Rend your heart
   and not your garments.
Return to the LORD your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.

The Lord is telling the Israelites to repent, He is telling them to rend their hearts (not their garments) toward’s Him. They had to repent of their sins, the Lord tells the Israelites that He is slow to anger and abounding in love and that He relents from sending calamity. The Lord still loved them, and in the section the Lord takes pity on His people. If the Israelites repent then the Lord was going to give them a blessing.

Our sins were so bad that we did have to rend our hearts, if we thought about how bad our sins were then it should make us want to tear our hearts, to rend them. But a sacrifice came down from heaven to die for our sins, a perfect sacrifice came down from heaven to atone for our sins. That sacrifice was the son of God, Jesus Christ, thank You so much Jesus for dying for us.

Jesus died for our sins so that we wouldn’t die with God’s wrath on us. We should accept Jesus’ sacrifice, if we don’t, we have God’s wrath on us, but if we do we don’t have God’s wrath on us because Jesus took it all away. Thank You so much Jesus for making us sons and daughters of God by taking our place on the cross and by giving us You place as a son or daughter of God. Thank You Jesus for dying for us and for (after being buried for three days) rising again on the third day.

As Christians we should do something though, we should not only spread the Gospel to unbelievers but we should think on the Gospel ourselves. We should also read our Bibles and pray, if we don’t we lose contact with the Lord and we need to talk to Him and listen and read His word. We should encourage others in the Gospel, instead of tearing people down, we need to build them up in the Gospel. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven and becoming fully God and fully human at the same time. Thank You Jesus for being beaten so much that no one could recognize that You were a man. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on a cross and taking God’s wrath and our sins on You so that we wouldn’t have to. Thank You for making us sons and daughters of God and for letting us trust in You. Thank You Jesus for giving us the Bible so that we can hear Your word. Thank You Jesus for doing all that for us.
