Hello, today the Sermon was on the Prodigal son in Luke 15.
We see the Gospel in the Prodigal Son in how the son squandered his money, but was forgiven. We are like the son; we squandered our lives. We sinned against God, and we deserved to die and go to hell. But God sent a substitute in our place; He sent Jesus to die for us. Jesus took our sin, and died for us on the Cross.
Just as the father gladly received his son, and even gave him the fattened calf to celebrate, so God welcomes us into his family. Jesus saved us from our sins and enabled us to have contact with God, and so we are now the sons and daughters of God!
Even though we, as the prodigal son did, went astray, God sent Jesus to bring us back and save us from our sins!
