Loving and Faithful

Hello! Today my sister and I are doing a post on Proverbs 3:3-4 which says:

“3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.”

Solomon is telling his son to have love and be faithful. If he kept love and faithfulness, then he would win favor and a good name in the sight of God and men. Those who don’t keep love and faithfulness would not have a good name with God and man.

We are unable to always love and never hate. We cannot, of ourselves, be completely faithful all the time. Therefore, we deserve to die. We should be punished for our sins. But we weren’t; we weren’t punished because Jesus was. Jesus was always loving and faithful, yet He gave us His righteousness, and He took our punishment. Jesus died in our place, with all our sin!

Even though we cannot always be faithful and loving, Jesus is always faithful and loving. We can see this from Hebrews 13:5 which says:

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

Jesus won’t ever leave us or forsake us, and that is a cause for rejoicing!

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
