Saving the World

Hello, today my sister and I are doing our post together on Zechariah 1:21 which says:

“I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”

In this passage, the horns here represent the nations that rebelled against Israel and Judah. The craftsmen represent the way that God would put an end to the nations who were rising up against God’s people. This is God’s way of giving mercy to his people.

Here the craftsmen are what God uses to save His people. Later on, God also uses another craftsman to save His people. He uses Jesus. Jesus, the son of a craftsman (His human father was a carpenter) was sent down to earth by God the Father to save the world from sin and from God’s wrath!

God will always protect His people. When troubles rise up against us, all we have to do is call on God for help. He is the one who sent His only son to die and save us from our sin in the first place. He made us His children, and He’s not about to let others destroy us. God is our protector, and our savior, and our creator. He loves us so much that He even gave His son for us.

So we see here that just like the 4 craftsmen in this passage, Jesus came down from heaven and saved not only the land of Judah, but the whole world!

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland and,
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland
