Never Fear

Hi, today my sister and I are writing are post together. We are writing on Zephaniah 3:15 which says:

“The Lord has taken away your punishment,
he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
never again will you fear any harm.”

Never fear again? That sounds great, doesn’t it? But in verse 13 the Lord says that they would (basically) have to be perfect. They couldn’t lie or do any sin at all; you’ll know that being perfect is impossible if you’ve ever tried it on your own. However, this does not mean that we will live in fear that we will be punished by God for the rest of our lives; instead God loved us so much that He sent a sacrifice to take all of the punishment and fear off of us! His name is Jesus; He lived a perfect life and then took our sins on Himself to die on a cross for us.

So, now that Jesus has taken our sin on Himself, we are freed. God has taken away our punishment, and given it to Jesus so that we might be children of God. Now, safe in God’s arms, we cannot be harmed by this world. God has us safely in His hands, and no matter what happens, God is holding us.

Isaiah 53:5 says:

“But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.”
