No Shame

God’s word for me today is in Zephaniah 3:11 which says:

11 On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame
for all the wrongs you have done to me,
because I will remove from you
your arrogant boasters.
Never again will you be haughty
on my holy hill.”

The Lord is restoring Israel! He has been telling all of the lands that they would be destroyed because they didn’t believe in Him, but now He is restoring His people Israel. He tells Israel that they wouldn’t be put to shame for all of the wrongs that they had done to Him. They would be shameless because God would make them shameless.

This passage points to the Gospel! We were sinners, we deserved to die, we had the shame of sin on us. But the God sent His son down from heaven to come and remove our shame. Jesus died on the hill of Calvary and He was mocked and spit at. But now we can realize why Jesus died, He died for us and we can’t mock Him. It was His love that saved us from our sins, He made us shameless, now we live because of Him!

We can’t be arrogant boasters because Jesus humbled Himself from the highest authority to the lowest criminal, just for us. We had sinned against God, but Jesus removed our shame and sin! He bore the sin and wrath and shame for us on the cross so that we could be saved! Praise God that we live! Now every Christian is a true Israelite, it’s not only Israel that have God’s hand on them, every believer does.

Thank You Jesus for saving us from our sins! Thank You Jesus for showing us such amazing pictures of Your Gospel through Your word! Thank You Jesus!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
