The Lord has Pure Eyes

God’s word for me today is in Habakkuk 1:13 which says:

13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil;
you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.
Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?
Why are you silent while the wicked
swallow up those more righteous than themselves?”

The Lord is too pure to look on evil. Habakkuk asks the Lord why He tolerated the wicked and the treacherous people. But the truth is that the Lord does not tolerate the wicked and treacherous people. He has wrath on those wicked and treacherous people. The Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. He does not tolerate wickedness.

So doesn’t that mean that we are going to be destroyed? Well yes, but there is more. We were going to die with God’s wrath on us, but something happened. God’s son (and God Himself), Jesus, came down from heaven to die for us on a cross. He came down, took our sins on Him, and died for us on the cross! We are saved from our sins because Jesus came down from His kingdom in heaven and died for our sins on a cross! Isn’t it amazing that Jesus died for our sins so that we could live! Praise the Lord!

If you are not saved from your sins then why don’t you trust in Jesus now? We cannot save ourselves, but Jesus died for us on a cross so we are saved from our sins! Thank You Jesus! Why don’t you trust in Jesus and be saved in your sins now? Why don’t you pray and ask Jesus into your heart and be saved from your sins? Jesus died for us on the cross! We were evil and the Lord could not look on us, but then Jesus died for us and now we are covered by His blood and we live!

Praise the Lord that we are saved from our sins and we live! Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross to save us! Thank You Jesus for covering us with your blood so that we could be accepted into heaven! Praise the Lord that Jesus died for us on the cross so that we could be saved from our sins!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.

  1. “Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD.
Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?”
    – Ezekiel 18:23

“Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him”
    – Romans 4:28

    • The Lord does want all men to come to repentance. “The Lord is not slow as some understand slowness, but desires that all men should come to repentance.” Peter says that.

However we do see that the Lord does have wrath on sin and wickedness, Jesus had all of that wrath on Him because He had all sins on Him.

The Lord has wrath on wickedness yet He wants all people to come to repentance in Jesus.

      God bless you!

  2. the goodnews or the gospel is that all God’s wrath has been poured on Jesus.

man perish as he is perished, simply by default he is already dead.
man suffers the consequences of the Law by default.

sadly, man blames God for the suffering or consequence, when it was man’s own doing

“The soul who sins is the one who will die”
    – Ezekiel 18:20

although the verse refers to ‘physical death’, it simply means all man is subject to his own action

now because sin is in all man, therefore all have sin,

“for all have sin and fall short of the glory of God”
    – romans 3:23

“for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus”
    – romans 6:23

and by default, the payment of sin is death, what more is devastating than God’s wrath?

God’s wrath does not bring man to turning to God but away from God

a loving father will draw his children to him,
but an evil father knows how to give good gifts

“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
    – Matthew 7:11

God, who is now our father gives good gifts to everyone.
that gift is eternal life through Christ Jesus His Son.

therefore we preach more on the goodness of the FATHER our God.

It is the goodness of God that leadeth man to repentance

“God’s kindness leads you toward repentance”
    – Romans 2:4

let us not scare people away. let them experience Jesus, God’s love.
it is impossible to turn away from a loving Father. amen

    – grace and peace
