God’s word for me today is in Micah 6:8 which says:
“8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly[a] with your God.”
The Lord had shown them what was good. The Lord showed them what He required of them, He required that they act justly and love mercy, and to walk humbly with the Lord. That is what the Lord requires of all of us. We can’t possibly obey what the Lord requires of us! He requires us to be perfect, we need to act justly so we can’t ever tell a lie or do anything unjust. We need to love mercy, we can’t ever be harsh and unmerciful. We need to walk humbly with the Lord, we can’t ever have a thought of pride and we need to always walk with God.
That is impossible for us humans. We break God’s laws, we did from the first lie. We were hopeless right? But what if I told you that we have a savior? Because we do! The son of God came down from His throne in heaven, then He humbled Himself enough to have the sins of the world on Him and die on a criminals cross. He Himself didn’t deserve what He went through, but because He had our sins on Him He had the full punishment. He was the only one to obey the law perfectly, and yet He died for us so that we could live. But our hope is alive, He rose from the grave on the third day and then ascended into heaven!
Praise the Lord! His sacrifice saved the world. He loved us so much that He sacrificed Himself at the cross, He didn’t make a perfect sacrifice for us, He died for us Himself. Now we love Him as our savior because He died for us.
Jesus died on the cross so that we could live! I really like the song above by third day.
Why don’t you trust in Jesus who died for our sins so that we could live? If you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus then you will be saved, you will spend eternity with our savior Jesus because He died for us. Why don’t you trust in Jesus and live?
