God’s word for me today is in Micah 4- (part of) 5 which says:
“4 He will stand and shepherd his flock
in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they will live securely, for then his greatness
will reach to the ends of the earth.
5 And he will be our peace
when the Assyrians invade our land
and march through our fortresses.”
The Lord would rescue the Israelites. They would live securely because of Him. The Lord would be their peace even when their enemies came and marched through their fortresses. God would be their protection, He was going to shepherd His flock.
We can live in peace too. At first we could never live in peace because of our sins, we were gong to be destroyed because of our sins. So how can we live in peace? Because of Jesus, God’s son. Jesus came down from heaven, took the sins of the whole world on Himself, and died on a cross for our sins. Why would Jesus die for sinners like us? He is perfect, pure and holy. We were dirty, sinful and marred. The reason that Jesus died for us was because He loved us!
Jesus died for our sins because He loves us. Now we have peace because we are saved. Now we are rescued! We have a shepherd that can keep us secure. We are now apart of His flock, even though we were sheep who had gone astray. If you have not trusted in Jesus when why don’t you? He can give you peace that you can not get anywhere else. He will keep you secure, He loved you so much that He died for you on the cross! Why don’t you trust in Him and live?
Jesus’ greatness spreads throughout the whole earth. It is reflected by every detailed butterfly, by the grass and the leaves. By the majestic mountains, just like the moon reflects the sun. It is reflected in us. It is reflected in the whole universe, all the mysteries and amazing discoveries. All of it is just a mere reflection of how majestic and glorious Jesus is. Can you imagine that such a glorious and wonderful God would come down from heaven to die for us? Praise the Lord for all that He has done, praise Him for dying on the cross for us!
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
