God’s word for me today is in Micah 4:6-7 which says:
“6 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will gather the lame;
I will assemble the exiles
and those I have brought to grief.
7 I will make the lame my remnant,
those driven away a strong nation.
The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion
from that day and forever.”
The Lord was going to gather up the weak, He was going to make the lame His remnant. He was going to make the weak and the lowly, the lame and the hurt, into a strong nation. He was going to take them and make them His people. That is only possible through love and compassion!
The Lord had love and compassion on the Israelites, and He had love and compassion on us. How do we know that? Well we were going to die because of our sins. But the son of God loved us so much that He came down from heaven and, with our sins on Him, sacrificed His life for us on the cross. In the Psalms David talks about how no man would die for a sinner, one might die for a friend or a good person, but it is very rare that anyone would die for a sinful person. But that’s what Jesus did at the cross.
He died for not only one sinful person, but for the whole world made up of sinful people. If you don’t believe God’s love for you because you are going through a hard time then just focus on the Gospel.
“10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (NIV 1 John 4:10)
Jesus is the very definition of love, if you looked up in the Bible dictionary what the meaning of love is then you would find a picture of Jesus and the cross. If you have not trusted in Jesus as your savior, then why don’t you do it now? He died for you, He loves you, why don’t you trust in Him?
Spread the good news! Jesus died for us, we live because He died! We can tell others about Jesus, we can say that love came down to earth and made a sacrifice for us. In fact He was the sacrifice! We should tell believers and unbelievers about Jesus because it is important to both. Whether it’s a believer struggling in sin or just a believer who needs encouragement or a sinner that needs to be saved, we should share the Gospel. No matter what condition you’re in, you need the Gospel, we always need to remind ourselves and others of the Gospel! A lot of people think that the Gospel is just for unbelievers, but truly if you think that way, then you especially need the Gospel. Everyone does, no matter what. Believers and unbelievers alike need the Gospel. So we should share it with everyone.
Praise the Lord that we are saved! We were weak and lame in our sins, all people were, but now that we have trusted in Jesus we are together as Christians and when we die we will go to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
