God’s word for me today is in Micah 4:5 which says:
“5 All the nations may walk
in the name of their gods,
but we will walk in the name of the Lord
our God for ever and ever.”
This passage is talking about the mountain of the Lord. All the nations would go up to the mountain of the Lord. They wanted the Lord to teach them. They wanted the Lord to judge their disputes. But they wouldn’t walk in the name of the Lord. They would walk in the name of their gods. The verse above says that the nations would not walk in the name of the Lord, but that “we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever”. The Israelites wanted to walk in the name of the Lord.
We might have wanted to walk in the name of the Lord. But we never could have. Why not? Because we were sinners! The Lord hates sin so there is no way that we could have walked in the name of the Lord. We couldn’t walk in righteousness and holiness. We were going to die. But then something happened. Something that allowed us to walk in the name of the Lord, something that gave us righteousness!
Jesus, the son of God, died for our sins on a cross! Jesus came down from heaven, took our sins on Him, and died for our sins on a cross. Because of His sacrifice we can walk in the name of the Lord, because of Jesus we have His righteousness! Jesus loved us so much that He gave His life for us so that we could live. Then on the third day, Jesus rose out of the grave! Then, after He appeared to many people, He ascended into heaven.
We can walk in the name of the Lord because Jesus died for us! But now that we walk in the name of the Lord, we should have a good testimony. Not only with our words but with our actions. We should live like we have been changed, we should live like that because we have been changed! At the cross Jesus changed us, believers and unbelievers should see that in us. Then when they ask how we are different we can share the Gospel with them so that the can trust in Jesus and live!
Thank You Jesus!
