Like Sheep in a Pen

God’s word for me today is in Micah 2:12 which says:

12 “I will surely gather all of you, Jacob;
I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.
I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,
like a flock in its pasture;
the place will throng with people.”

The Lord had compassion on the Israelites. After all the disaster that He said would come on them, now He is promising deliverance to them. The Lord was going to bring them all together like sheep in a pen. The people of Israel has split and run away, but the Lord would bring them all together into one place again.

Just like us. We were hopeless, we were going to die. But then, because Jesus loved us so much, He died for our sins. We were sinners, that was why we were going to die. But Jesus loved us so much that He came down from heaven, took our sins on Him, and died for us on the cross. We needed a sacrifice, and Jesus was our sacrifice. Now we are Jesus’ sheep, we are the sheep of His pasture and He is our shepherd.

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (NIV John 10:11)

Jesus is our shepherd who laid down His life for us His sheep.

In the end all Christians will go to heaven and we will be with our savior for eternity. We should share the good news with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and be His sheep. We should share the Gospel with them so that they can be saved from their sins. Jesus rescued us at the cross, we should share that news with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and live.

If you have not trusted in Jesus then why don’t you trust in Him now? Jesus died for us while we were sinners so that we could trust in Him and live!

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (NIV Romans 5:8)

Jesus died for us so that we could live! We are all the sheep of Jesus because He sacrificed His life for us. The son of God died for us on the cross! Now we praise God for loving us so much that we can live because He died for us!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
