A Liar and a Deceiver

God’s word for me today is in Micah 2:11 which says:

11 If a liar and deceiver comes and says,
‘I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’
that would be just the prophet for this people!”

The Israelites didn’t want Micah to be prophesying about their destruction. They didn’t like to hear bad news and Micah was telling them bad news. They wanted a prophet who would tell them good news. Micah says that the Israelites would’ve been happy if a liar and deceiver came and told them that he would prophesy for them plenty of wine and beer. The Israelites wanted to have a happy message brought to them.

The real message for all people is this: we are going to die because of our sins! God hates sin+we are sinners=we are going to be destroyed. That is, we were going to be destroyed. We were going to be destroyed until Jesus (God’s son and God Himself) came down from heaven, took our sins on Him and died for us! Now 1 cross+3 nail=fourgiven! Jesus died for us on the cross so that we could live! Why would Jesus die for us on a cross?

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (NIV 1 John 4:10)

19 We love because He first loved us.” (NIV 1 John 4:19)

God loved us first, He loved us so much that He sent His one and only son to die for our sins on a cross! Now we love Him because He loved us first. Doesn’t it make your heart overflow with gratefulness and love for our savior Jesus? At first we did not love God, but Jesus died for us, He loved us and now we love Him as well as others.

We should love other believers and unbelievers. We can love believers and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We can love unbelievers by sharing the Gospel with them. We should not be a liar or a deceiver, we should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and live!

Praise the Lord that we are saved from our sins! Isn’t it amazing that Jesus would come down from heaven and die for us on the cross? Jesus died for us, that is why we live and that is why we do not have to fear death, because Jesus died for us!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
