God’s word for me today is in Micah 1:3 which says:
“Look! The Lord is coming from His dwelling place;
he comes down and treads on the heights of the earth.”
For the Israelites it was not a good thing that the Lord came down from His dwelling place. Here the Lord is coming down in His wrath and anger. Micah said “look!” The Lord was coming from His dwelling place and He would tread the heights of the earth. The Israelites were going to die, they were going to be destroyed because of their sins. The Lord’s wrath was on them because they had sinned.
The Lord’s wrath was not only on the Israelites, it was on us too. We were sinners just like the Israelites. The Lord came down from heaven but He did it out of love. Jesus, the son of God (and God Himself) came down from heaven to be our sacrifice! He took our sins on Him and died for us on the cross! We needed a perfect sacrifice and Jesus came down from heaven and lived a perfect life, then He died for us on a criminals cross with our sins on Him so that we could live. He cleansed us with His blood!
Jesus came down from heaven out of love for us. He loved us so much that He died for us. Christians are cleansed and holy because of Jesus. If you are an unbeliever, than why don’t you believe in Jesus and live? Jesus is our atoning sacrifice, why don’t you believe in Jesus and be saved from your sins? It is amazing that Jesus would actually love us enough to take His Father’s wrath on Him and die for us! He took our punishment and suffered as if He had sinned, He Himself was and is perfect but He suffered as if He sinned because He took our sins on Him.
Praise the Lord that we can live! Thank God that we have Jesus, who loved us so much that He was our atoning sacrifice! We were going to die because of our sins but Jesus cleansed us at the cross! He took our sins on Him so that we might live and be saved from God’s wrath. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You came down from heaven and died for us on a cross! Praise God that we are saved!
