Third Day

The reason that I was unable to post yesterday was because we were very busy yesterday.

God’s word for me today is in Jonah 1:17 which says:

17 Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”

After Jonah was thrown into the water the Lord provided a huge fish that swallowed Jonah. Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights, Jonah sacrificed himself so that the sailors could live and then he was in the fish’s belly for three days and nights. Jonah had run away from God, or at least he had tried to, and now he was in the belly of a giant fish because of it.

Still a picture of Jesus! We saw how Jonah was a picture of Jesus by sacrificing himself in my last post and now we see how he is like Jesus because he is in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. Jesus was in the grave for three days! Then Jesus rose from the grave and ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us. Jesus died for us on the cross and He was in the grave for 3 days, just like how Jonah was in the belly of the whale for 3 days.

Jesus died for us so that we could live! If you have not trusted in Jesus then why don’t you? Jesus is our sacrifice and if we trust in Him then we will live and be saved from all of our sins. Our hope is alive because Jesus is alive, He was in the grave for only three days and He rose from the grave. He is our living hope! Why don’t you trust in Jesus?

Praise the Lord that we are saved from our sins! Thank You Jesus for dying for us on the cross! How amazing that we have a living hope who atoned perfectly for our sins! Thank God that we are saved and that we can live because Jesus died for us on the cross! We have a living hope, He is living because He rose from the grave on the third day! Praise the Lord that we can live and that we are saved because Jesus took the punishment for us! Thank You Jesus for dying for us!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
