The Gospel was not there

Now that my family and I have moved to Sequim we’ve been trying to find a church that preaches the Gospel. So far we’ve been unsuccessful. The pastor did not preach the Gospel today. The passage was Ephesians 4:11-16 which talks about how Christ has given us leaders to equip us in the faith. Now we are no longer infants who are tossed by the waves of false teaching.

How are we equipped in the faith? By the Gospel! The Gospel helps us to grow spiritually, when we are spiritual infants we might think that a false teaching sounds reasonable and we might start believing it. But if we are secure in the Gospel that Jesus died for us on the cross then we will not be tricked by false teaching.

If we have a gift then we can use it to help grow the body, we should want to use it because of love. Jesus loved us enough to die for us, we should share our gift. A pastor can have the gift of preaching, he should preach the Gospel! We can have the gift of loving, we should love by meeting people physical needs and their spiritual needs. We can personally share the Gospel with them. Whatever gift you have can be used in the light of the Gospel!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
