Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 14:3 which says:
“3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.”
Here Paul is saying that someone who eats everything (meaning a person who is fine with eating things like meat) should not treat the one who doesn’t, with contempt. The one who does not eat everything should not judge the one who does. Paul then gives the reason: because God has accepted them. God has accepted all those people who have accepted His sacrifice.
God has accepted those who have accepted His sacrifice. But what sacrifice? All humans need a sacrifice because we are sinners, but we could never find a perfect sacrifice. But God loved us so much that He sent His son to come and die for us on the cross. Jesus loved us so much that He died for us so that we could live! Then He ascended into heaven on the third day. Jesus died for us so that we could live! We should accept His sacrifice and be saved from our sins.
If you have not accepted Jesus’ sacrifice then why don’t you trust in Him? If you accept Jesus’ sacrifice then you will be freed from your sins and you will be accepted by God as a child of God. Jesus died for us, and if you accept His sacrifice then you will be accepted by God. If you are an unbeliever than why don’t you ask God to forgive you of your sins? He will forgive you, He will change you and He will accept you as a child of God. Jesus died for us, why don’t you accept His sacrifice.
Paul tells those who eat anything not to treat those who will not eat anything with contempt. Paul also tells those who will not eat anything not to judge those who will. As Christians we should to that too, if we are those who will eat anything then we should not treat our weaker brothers (as Paul calls them) with contempt. If you are one who will not eat anything then you should not judge those who will eat anything. That way we will not start an argument that could be avoided and we will have peace with one another.
Praise God that we are saved from our sins. Thank the Lord that we have been rescued from our sins and that we are accepted by God because Jesus died for us!
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
