That He Should Repay Them

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 11:35-36 which says:

35 “Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?”[a]
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

Paul is giving a doxology, he is praising God. In verse 35 Paul is saying that no one has ever given to God that God should repay them, God owns everything! Paul says in verse 36 that from God and through God and for God all things are made. Then Paul gives glory to God. First we are going to look at the Gospel through verse 35.

No one has ever given to God that God should repay them. But God has given so much to us that we can’t repay Him. We were wretched sinners who were going to die with all of our wretched sins on us, but pure Jesus came down from heaven and He gave us His pureness and took our wretched, dirty sins on Him. Then He died for us on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day. We can never repay Him for giving us the perfection that we never would have had, and taking our terrible sins off of us. He died for us and now we live because of Him!

We praise God because He died for us, He actually saved us from our awful sins by dying for us! If you are an unbeliever then why don’t you trust in Jesus and be saved from your sins? Jesus died for us on the cross and if you accept Him as the sacrifice for your sins then you will become pure because Jesus will wash you clean. Jesus made us clean at the cross, why don’t you trust in Him and you will be washed too.

We give praise to God because He gave us such an amazing gift! Jesus died for us and we should thank God that we have been saved from our sins and been made new by Jesus. Praise the Lord that we are washed from our sins and have been cleaned by Jesus’ blood. Thank Jesus that we have been saved and remade in Jesus. Praise God that we have trusted in Jesus and that we live because He died for us. Thank You Jesus for being our atoning sacrifice on the cross!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
