Children Of the Living God

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 9:25-26 which says,

25 As he says in Hosea:

“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
 and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”[a]

26 and,

“In the very place where it was said to them,

‘You are not my people,’

there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”

Paul is quoting a passage in Hosea where the Lord is saying that those who were not His people would become His people. Those who were not His children would become His children. That is so much like us! The Jews had been God’s children, and only the Jews were His children, not the Gentiles. But the Jews rejected Jesus who came to rescue them from their sins, then Jesus died for everyone! Jesus came and died for those who were not God’s children, and now if we accept His sacrifice, we are God’s children. Now everyone including Jews can become children of God. Even though we weren’t the children of God, we are if we trust in Jesus’ sacrifice.

Now we are the loved children of God even though we weren’t before. Jesus died for us and now we are saved from our sins! We are now children of the living God! We should give that news to unbelievers, Jesus died for us and we are now God’s children and we should tell that to unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus. Jesus died and He gave us the right to be children of God.

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (NIV John 1:12)

We are given the right to become children of God if we receive Jesus!

If you are an unbeliever than why don’t you trust in Jesus and become a child of God? Jesus died for us on the cross so that we could be freed from our sins and so that we would not have God’s wrath on Him. Why don’t you come to Jesus and trust in Him. Now we are the loved children of God because Jesus who was God’s only son came down and died for us. Jesus made those who were not the children of God, the children of God! Jesus died for us so that we could live.

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
