Who Will Rescue Me?

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 7:24-25 which says:

24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature[a] a slave to the law of sin.”

In this passage Paul was talking about how he did what he didn’t want to do and what he wanted to do, he didn’t do. In verse 24 he is saying that he was a wretched man. Paul asked who would rescue him from his body that was subject to death. Then he said that God delivers him though Jesus Christ. Paul (along with every human except for Jesus who was fully human and fully God) was sinful and that condemned him to death and the same was for us. But Jesus came down and died for us on the cross. Jesus rescues us from our sins!

Jesus died for us so that we could live and now we are saved from our sins! Jesus came down from heaven and died for us, now we are saved. We were wretched sinners, but Jesus died for us on the cross with our sins and God’s wrath on Him, and now we are saved from our sins! Why don’t you trust in Jesus and be saved from your sins? We were sinners in need of a savior, and Jesus was that savior.

Christians should spread the good news of the Gospel. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers, we should tell them how Jesus died for their sins so that they could live. We should give them the Gospel so that they can trust in Jesus and be saved from their sins. We should give unbelievers the Gospel.

We should thank God for sending His son to die for us. Paul said “thanks be to God who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord” we should thank the Lord too. Praise the Lord for delivering us by sending His son to die for us on the cross. Thank God that Jesus came and delivered us from our sins so that we could live. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross so that we could live. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for us!

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
