Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 5:6-8 which says,
“6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us! That’s what Paul says and that is amazing because it’s very rarely that anyone would die for even a righteous person, even though some might die for a good person. But Jesus loved us so much that He died, while we were still sinners, that means that we were unrighteous people who deserved death and Jesus gave up His life to save us. That is how much He loved us.
We were powerless in our sins, we were slaves to sin. But, just at the right time, Jesus died for the ungodly and we were the ungodly. You may say that you have been a Christian all of your life and that you have never done anything wrong, but God sees your heart. If you are an unbeliever then why don’t you come and trust in Jesus. Everyone was a sinner, but Jesus loved us so much that He died for us. If you are an unbeliever then you should repent of your sins and trust in Jesus, then you will be saved from your sins.
Paul says that it is very rare that anyone would die for the ungodly, it seems as though it is hard for us to love unbelievers. But we should show them kindness by giving them the Gospel! Jesus showed us His kindness and His love for us by dying for us on the cross, and we should share the Gospel with unbelievers.
Jesus died for us on the cross even though we were ungodly, all of us were sinners but Jesus came and died for us so that we could live. He died for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Praise God for what He has done for us. Give thanks to the Lord for coming down and dying for us sinners. Thank You Jesus for dying and removing our sins as far as the east is from the west. Thank You Jesus for dying for us even though we were ungodly and even though we were sinners.
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
