The Sermon

Hi, today the pastor preached on Luke 7:36-50 which talks about the sinful woman who came and anointed Jesus’ feet a jar of expensive perfume. Then Simon (the pharisee that had asked Jesus to dinner) said to himself that if Jesus was a prophet then he would know who he was talking to. Then Jesus said that whoever is forgiven much loves much and that whoever is forgiving little loves little.

We were all sinners and we have all sinned but Jesus died for us on the cross. Now we can trust in Jesus and be forgiven of our sins. That doesn’t mean that we can keep sinning, Paul says in Romans 5 and 6 that we are dead to sin and alive in Christ. We have been forgiven of all of our sins! Now we love Jesus because He first loved us.

19 We love because he first loved us.” (NIV 1 John 4:19)

Now we love Jesus because He first loved us, and because He loved us He died for us.

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
