Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 3:1-2 which says:
“What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? 2 Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.”
Today we are going to talk about how the Jews had received the word of God and how we now have the word of God just like Paul is saying that Jew’s had the word of God. Now we have the Bible which is the word of God.
Paul is saying that the Jews did have God’s word given to them before the Gentiles did so there was some value in being a Jew. Now we have the Bible which is the word of God, so even the Gentiles have the word of God. Now we have the word of God. The Jews had the word of God but they rejected it and now we all have God’s word.
But why do we need God’s word? Because the Bible has the Gospel as its main point. The Gospel is all through the Bible but what is the Gospel? The Gospel is that Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins on Him, then He died on the cross so that we could live. After being buried He rose from the grave on the third day, then he ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us. Now we have God’s word, now Gentiles can become saved by the Gospel and they can become the children of God.
If you are an unbeliever then why don’t you trust in Jesus? Now not only the Jews have become entrusted with the very words of God, everyone can trust in Jesus and everyone can be saved from their sins because of Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus died for our sins, why don’t you trust in Jesus as your savior?
The Gospel is the most important thing and we have been entrusted with it. We have been entrusted with the Gospel and now we should give it to unbelievers so that they can live. Just like Eleazar was the one who guarded the Ark of God we are entrusted with the Gospel and we should give it to unbelievers so that they can have eternal life because of Jesus.
Now everyone can trust in Jesus and everyone can be saved from their sins by repenting of their sins and believing in Jesus as their savior.
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
