Obeying the Lord

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Romans 2:13 which says:

13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.”

Today we are going to look at how we cannot be righteous without Jesus because we would have to obey the law perfectly. Paul is saying in this passage that those who obey the law will be declared righteous, but we can’t obey the law. That is why Jesus died for us on the cross.

We can’t perfectly obey the law and no matter how hard we try we will never be able to alone. But that is why Jesus died for our sins on the cross. Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins along with God’s wrath on Him, then He died on a cross! Jesus died so that we could live. Jesus was and is perfect and He gave us His perfection so now when the Lord looks on us He sees His perfect son Jesus. Of course we still sin but we should not sin habitually.

Jesus died for us and Jesus obeyed the law perfectly so now we don’t have too. Jesus did what we couldn’t do so that we could live, He obeyed the law perfectly! Then He died for us. If you are an unbeliever than why don’t you trust in Jesus as your savior? He died for your sins, why don’t you trust in Him?

Jesus took all of God’s wrath on Him and now there is no more of God’s wrath for us. Now we are declared righteous because of Jesus. As Christians we should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and live. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can repent of their sins, trust in Jesus and be declared righteous. We should give the Gospel to unbelievers.

Jesus died for our sins so that we could be declared righteous, why don’t you trust in His sacrifice and repent of your sins if you are not a believer?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
