Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 20:19-20 which says:
“19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The
disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.”
Jesus rose from the grave and His disciples had locked themselves into a room for fear of the Jews. Jesus walked into the room and said “Peace be with you!” Then He showed His disciples His hands and side and they were overjoyed. They saw their Lord and they were overjoyed because of it.
Jesus rose from the grave and He came to His disciples with a message of peace. Because of sin they wouldn’t have had peace had it not been for Jesus and neither would we. We were sinners and we were going to die in our sins. But Jesus came and died for us on the cross, now we have peace because Jesus paid for our sins and rose on the third day. We can have peace because Jesus is our sacrifice.
If you are an unbeliever why don’t you trust in Jesus and live? If you have not trusted in Jesus then you have no peace, why don’t you trust in Him and have peace. If you repent of your sins and trust in Him then you will live and you will have peace from your sins. Of course we still sin but not habitually. Why don’t you trust in Jesus and be overjoyed when He comes to you?
As Christians we should show unbelievers the Gospel. We should give them the Gospel so that they can live and be saved. We should give unbelievers the truth that Jesus died for them so that they can have peace in Jesus and so that they can be overjoyed that Jesus died for them.
Thank You Jesus for loving us and giving us peace by dying for our sins. Thank You Jesus for atoning for our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for loving us and dying for us so that we could live and have eternal life in Heaven. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate for our behalf.
Are you trusting in Jesus?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
