Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 19:17-18 which says:
“17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).18 There they crucified him, and with him two others —one on each side and Jesus in the middle.”
Here Jesus is being crucified, Jesus carried His cross up Golgotha (which means the Skull) and there He was crucified on the cross. The Pharisees had scared Pilate into putting Jesus on the cross. Jesus was on a cross between two criminals who were dying for a good reason.
But Jesus did have our sins on Him, Jesus Himself was perfect but He died with our sins on Him along with God’s wrath. Jesus died with God’s wrath on Him even though He Himself was perfect because He had taken our sins on Him. Jesus died for us, so that we could live! Jesus was crucified on the cross so that we wouldn’t have to be. Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins.
If you are an unbeliever than why don’t you trust in Jesus and live? If you repent of your sins and truth in Jesus then you will have eternal life. Jesus died for our sins, why don’t you believe in Him and become a child of God? Jesus is our atoning sacrifice, why don’t you trust in Him?
As Christians we should find the Gospel in every passage that we read, we should look for it and find it because the Gospel is the main point of the Bible. Even the Old Testament has pictures of the Gospel in it. We should look for the Gospel and share it with others. The Gospel is important and we should look for it in the Bible.
Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You died for us. Thank You Jesus for giving us eternal life when You died on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf. Thank You Jesus for giving us the Gospel in so many ways in the Bible. Thank You Jesus for being our atoning sacrifice by dying for us on the cross with our sins and God’s wrath on You. Thank You Jesus!
Are you trusting in Jesus?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
