Guilty Of A Greater Sin

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 19:11 which says:

10 “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”

Jesus is being condemned to crucifixion in this passage. The Pharisees had brought Jesus to Pilate and Pilate is continuing to talk with Jesus. When Pilate asked Jesus a question Jesus didn’t answer so Pilate said that he (Pilate) had the power to either free Jesus or to crucify Jesus. Jesus then replied that Pilate wouldn’t have any power if it wasn’t given to him from above. Jesus then said that the ones who had handed Jesus over to Him were guilty of a greater sin.

Pilate said that he had the power to crucify Jesus or to free Him but really Pilate Himself needed to be freed from sin. So do we and that’s why Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins on the cross. Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins on the cross so that we could live and so that we could be freed from our sins.

If you are an unbeliever than why don’t you trust in Jesus and repent of your sins? Why don’t you believe in Jesus and live. Why don’t you trust in Jesus and receive eternal life? Why don’t you become freed from your sins by trusting in Jesus who was crucified on the cross. Why don’t you trust in Jesus and live?

As Christians we should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can live. We should give the Gospel to those who have not trusted in Jesus so that they can receive eternal life too. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can become children of God. We should give the Gospel to unbelievers.

Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life. Thank You Jesus for freeing us from our sins on the cross and for loving us so much to die for our sins. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You atoned for our sins on the cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
