Testify the Truth

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 18:36-37 which says:

36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” 37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

The Pharisees had taken Jesus to Pilate to have Him (Jesus) put to death. Pilate asked them what Jesus was guilty of and they answered him by saying that they wouldn’t have brought Jesus to Pilate if He (Jesus) was not guilty, they knew that Jesus was not guilty so they couldn’t tell Pilate that He was. Then Pilate summoned Jesus and talked to Him. Pilate asked Jesus if He (Jesus) was the king of the Jews and Jesus asked Him where Pilate got the idea that He (Jesus) was the king of the Jews.  Then Jesus said that if His kingdom was of the world then His servants would have helped rescue Him the Pilate said “You are a king, then!” Jesus answered that the reason He was born was to bring truth into the world.

Jesus is the way and the truth and the life, Jesus said so Himself in John 14:6. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and He died for us so that we could have life and truth and so that we could follow the way. Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins along with God’s wrath on Him and He died for our sins on a cross so that we could live.

Jesus loved us so much that He died for us and if you are an unbeliever then why don’t you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus as your savior? Why don’t you follow the way, accept the truth and receive the life? If you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus then you will have eternal life.

As Christians we should listen to Jesus. In the end of verse 37 of John 18:36-37 Jesus says that everyone on the side of truth listened to Him. We should do the same because as Christians we are on the side of truth. We should listen to Jesus and obey what He tells us to do. We should listen to the Gospel.

Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for atoning for our sins on the cross and for taking our sins along with God’s wrath on You. Thank You Jesus for being our sacrifice and dying for us so that we could live. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You died for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
