From Grief To Joy

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 16:21 which says,

21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.”

The disciples were grieved because Jesus had told them that He was going away from them but Jesus is talking to them He is saying that their grief will turn to Joy. Jesus then uses the example of a woman who is giving birth, she has pain because her time has com but when the baby is born her grief turns into Joy because she has a new child.

It is just like us, when we here what we are before the Gospel (we are sinners and we are going to die with our sins and God’s wrath on us) then we are grieved. But when we hear the Gospel we have joy because now we are saved. The Gospel is that Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins on Him, then He died for us on the cross! Our grief has turned to joy now, now we have heard the Gospel. We once were dead but now we have new life just like a little baby.

If you are an unbeliever then why don’t you come to Jesus and receive new life? Why don’t you accept Jesus as your savior and have the joy that only the Holy Spirit can give you? Why don’t you pray and ask Jesus to become your savior and give you new life? Jesus died for you and you should accept Him and live.

If you are saved them the grief that you would get from hearing about your sins should have turned to the joy that Jesus can give you. You will still have grief in your life, but if you pray to Jesus and you ask Him to help you then He will (in due time) turn your grief to joy. Jesus turned our grief to joy at the cross and He can help you through hard times and turn your grief to joy then, so cry to Jesus in hard times when you have grief.

Thank You Jesus for turning our grief into joy at the cross when you died for our sins. Thank You Jesus for turning our grief to joy now when we go through hard times and we cry out to You. Thank You Jesus for answering our prayers and turning our grief to joy.

Have you accepted Jesus as your savior and had your grief turn to joy?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
