Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 16:8-11 which says,
“8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
In this passage Jesus is telling His disciples that it is best for Him (Jesus) to leave because then the Advocate could come to them. Then Jesus says that the Advocate would (when He comes) prove the world to be wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. Jesus says that He would prove the world wrong about sin because people did not believe in Him, about righteousness because He was going to the Father where they couldn’t see Him any more, and about judgement because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
How did all of that happen? There was a reason that Jesus came into the world and that reason was to atone for our sins! Every human being (Jesus was fully human but He was also fully God) has sin but Jesus didn’t. Every human being needs a perfect savior and Jesus was our savior. Jesus died for our sins and the prince of this world (the devil) stands condemned.
Jesus died for us on the cross! He atoned for our sins by taking our sins on Him and dying for us on a cross. If you are not saved then why don’t you accept Jesus as your atoning sacrifice. The world was wrong about sin because they did not trust in Jesus, if you are an unbeliever then why don’t you trust in Jesus and live?
Christians should share the Gospel with unbelievers! We should give the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins on the cross to unbelievers so that they can become free from their sins, so that they can have eternal life. Jesus died for us and we should share that good news with unbelievers so that they can be free from sin and death.
Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on a cross. Praise God that we are now children of God because Jesus died for our sins. Thank You Jesus for loving us and dying for us so that we could live. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf. Thank You Jesus for being our atoning sacrifice.
Are you trusting in Jesus?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
