Hi, God’s word for me today is in  John 15:26-27 which says,

26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father —the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.”

In this passage Jesus is talking to His disciples and He is saying that when the Advocate (the Holy Spirit) came He would testify about Jesus. Then Jesus tells them to testify about Him too, because they had been with Him from the beginning.

Jesus was saying that the Spirit of truth would come and testify about Him (Jesus). Jesus was going to the Father where He would send the Spirit of truth to His disciples, and the way that Jesus when to the Father was by atoning for our sins. Jesus came down from heaven and He died for us on a cross! Jesus died for our sins, that is amazing! Jesus died on a cross for us then on the third day Jesus rose from the grave. After Jesus rose from the grave He ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate on our behalf.

Jesus died for our sins on a cross, if you have not trusted in Jesus then why don’t you trust in Him now? If you are an unbeliever then you should accept Jesus as your savior so that you can be freed from your sins and have eternal life. Why not accept Him as your savior now?

Jesus told His disciples to testify about Him. We should do the same. We should share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus. How can we have a good testimony? We can have a good testimony not only by what we say but what we do,

35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (NIV John 13:35)

We should love each other and we will have a good testimony if we do.

Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross. Praise God that He sent a sacrifice to atone for our sins on a cross. Thank You Jesus for sending us an Advocate and for dying for our sins on the cross. Thank You Jesus for being our mediator and atoning for our sins on the cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
