Would Not Be Guilty

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 15:24-25 which says,

24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[a]”

This passage has a lot in it. Jesus is telling His disciples that if the world hated them they should keep in mind that it hated Him first. Jesus is saying that the world acted the same way around His disciples and around Him. Jesus then says that everyone in the world was guilty of sin because He had come into the world and done things that no one else had done but the world still hated Him. The Pharisees (as an example) hated Jesus and they were sinners even though Jesus could save them, they were guilty of sin.

We were guilty of sin too. We were sinners who needed a perfect sacrifice to atone for us. Jesus was and is that sacrifice, Jesus came down from heaven to be our atoning sacrifice. That is why all who had sinned became convicted of sin when Jesus came down from heaven, Jesus is the sacrifice for sinners and if you do not accept Him then you will become convicted of sin and you will die with your sins on you. Unless you accept Jesus as your sacrifice, He came down from heaven and died for our sins.

If you are an unbeliever then you should accept Jesus as your savior. He came down to die for your sins and for the sin of the world, you should accept Jesus as your savior if you are an unbeliever. Jesus died for you, you will be convicted of your sins if you do not accept Jesus as your savior. Accept Jesus and live.

We should be like the disciples, we should follow Jesus no matter what. Yes we will fail Him but if you ask Him to help you then He will. Even if the world hates us and they persecute us, Jesus is with us and we should continue to trust in Him. Jesus told His disciples that if the world hated them they should keep in mind that it hated Him (Jesus) first. We should do the same.

Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross, thank You Jesus for loving us enough to atone for all of our sins. Thank You Jesus for atoning for our sins on a cross. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on a cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
