Greater Love

Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 15:13-15 which says,

13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

Jesus is talking to His disciples and He is saying that no man has greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. Jesus then said that they were His friends if they did what He commanded. He said that He no longer called them His servants because a servant did not know his master’s business. Jesus called His disciples His friends because everything that He learned from the Father He had made known to them.

What an amazing way to point forward to the Gospel! Jesus told His disciples that no man had a greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. But Jesus not only did that but He did something even more amazing, He laid down His life for His enemies as well as His friends! Jesus came down from heaven to die for us on the cross! He died on a cross for not only His friends but the whole world and we were Jesus’ enemies.

Jesus died for our sins, He laid down His life for us on the cross, He took our sins on Him and He died on a cross! That is the Gospel of Jesus, Jesus came down from heaven and He died for our sins on the cross! He loved us so much that He laid down His life not only for His friends but for His enemies.

If you have not trusted in Jesus as your savior then why don’t you now? Dear Jesus, I’m sorry for all of the sins that I have done, please forgive me. Please make me a new creation in You, thank you for laying down Your life for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Jesus died for the sins of the world including yours, why don’ you trust in Him?

Jesus made us His friends, instead of His enemies we are now His friends. We should share the Gospel of Jesus with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and become children of God. We should give unbelievers the Gospel so that they can repent of their sins and truth in Jesus. We should give unbelievers the Gospel so that they can be free from their sins.

Thank You Jesus for dying for us on a cross. Thank You Jesus for dying for Your enemies so that now we are Your friends. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG7hVInkfes Jesus thank you by sovereign grace.) Thank You Jesus for making us children of God by dying for us on the cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
