Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 14:18-19 which says,
“8 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.”
In this passage Jesus is at first telling His disciples that if they loved Him then they should follow His commands. Then Jesus is telling His disciples that when He got to where He was going then He would ask His Father and His Father would send another advocate to help them and to be with them forever. Jesus said that He was not going to leave them as orphans and that He would leave the world but they would see Him. Jesus said that because He lived so they also lived.
Jesus not only kept them from being orphans He saved us from being orphans too. We were sinners and we needed a savior, we were orphans in our sin. We needed a perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. Jesus was and is that sacrifice! Jesus was and is perfect and He came down from heaven to die for our sins on the cross. Jesus is our savior, He died for our sins and now we are the children of God. We are not orphans we are children of God because Jesus made us children of God.
If you are not a Christian and you have not trusted Christ as your savior then why don’t you? Why don’t you accept Jesus as your savior and trust in Him so that you can live? Dear Jesus, please forgive me of my sins, please make me a child of God. Please save me from my sins and come into my life to make me new. In Jesus name, Amen.
We are now children of God because Jesus died for our sins. We should now share the Gospel with unbelievers so that they can trust in Jesus and live. We should give the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins on the cross to unbelievers. If we share the Gospel with unbelievers then they can trust in Jesus and be saved from their sins.
Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins. Thank You Jesus for making us children of God by dying for our sins on a cross. Thank You Jesus for atoning for our sins and freeing us from sin. Thank You Jesus for not leaving us as orphans but dying for us so that we can live. Thank You Jesus.
Are you trusting in Jesus?
