Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 14:1-2 which says,
““Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”
In this passage Jesus is talking to His disciples and He is saying that they shouldn’t let their hearts be troubled. Jesus tells them that they believed in God and they should believe in Him (Jesus) also. Jesus then goes on to say that His Father’s house had many rooms and if that were not so then would He have told them that He was going up there to prepare a place for them? Jesus is saying that they should believe in Him and that He was going to prepare a place for them. Jesus is comforting His disciples after Judas had betrayed Him, Jesus saying that they believed in God and they should believe in Him. Jesus said that He was going to prepare a place for them and that His Father’s house had many rooms, Jesus was going to prepare a place for them in Heaven.
The disciples believed in Jesus and we should too, but what about Jesus should we believe in? We were sinners who were going to die in our sins but Jesus came down from heaven and took our sins on Him and then He died for us on a cross. Jesus actually came down from heaven and died f or us, Jesus is the son of God (and God Himself) and He actually died for us. It is amazing grace that Jesus died for our sins on a cross, that Jesus would actually take the sins of the world on Himself and die for us!
“2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
Jesus died for us and we should believe in Him! We should trust in Jesus as our savior and believe in Him so that we can have eternal life. We should repent of our sins and trust in Jesus so that we can be free from our sins.
We should also follow what Jesus told the disciples to do. We should not let our hearts be troubled and when we are troubled we should run to Jesus. We should come to Jesus because He will help us.
Thank You Jesus for dying for us on the cross. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins and be our atoning sacrifice. Thank You Jesus for all that Your have done for us.
Are you trusting in Jesus?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
