Hi, God’s word for me today is in John 9:26-27 which says,
“26 Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?” 27 He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?”
In this passage the Pharisees are talking to the man born blind who was now able to see because Jesus healed Him. The Pharisees asked the man how it happened, Jesus had done the miracle on the Sabbath and the Pharisees might have wanted to see if Jesus had been working on the Sabbath. After the Pharisees had questioned the man they asked his parents if he was really their son and if he had been born blind. They said that it was their son and didn’t know how it happened. Then the Pharisees began to question the man again by asking how it happened and what Jesus had done to him. The man said that he had already told them and asked why they wanted to know, then he said “do you want to become his disciples too?” The man wanted them to follow Jesus.
Jesus had healed the man born blind, and if we accept Jesus then we will be healed too. What from? We will be healed from sin! We were sinners that had God’s wrath on us and we were going to die like that but Jesus came down from heaven because He loved us, then Jesus took our sins and God’s wrath on Him and He died for us on a cross. Jesus came to heal the wound of sin that all humans have, Jesus was and is perfect because He was not only human but He was God. Jesus came and healed us that is amazing.
We should trust in Jesus, like the man born blind we should believe in Jesus and be saved. If we believe in Jesus and repent of our sins then we will be healed, we will be able to see. We were blind in our sins, we were constantly looking at ourselves because we were blinded but Jesus came and opened our eyes and now we look to Jesus instead. We should trust in Jesus and repent of our sins, if we do then we will live! We should believe in Jesus and live.
We should also be like the man who was healed, how? The man who was healed had asked the pharisees if they wanted to become Jesus’ disciples too, of course they didn’t but the Lord is the only one who knows the heart of the people around us and we should share the Gospel with them. We should ask them if they want to become saved by Jesus, just like the man who had been blind did. The man who had been blind could not contain his joy any longer, and we shouldn’t be able to either, we should share the Gospel with others so that they can live.
Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins. Thank You Jesus for healing us from our sins, thank You for letting us see. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on a cross, thank You Jesus for being our atoning sacrifice. Thank You Jesus for rising again on the third day and then ascending into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us. Thank You Jesus for healing us of our sins. Thank You Jesus for atoning for our sins and for giving us Your perfection in exchange for our sins.
Are you trusting in Jesus?
