Christ suffered once for us

Hi, God’s word for me today is in 1 Peter 3:18 which says,

” For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”

Peter is saying that Christ suffered once for our sins, He died for our sins and that was it. There didn’t need to be 2 sacrifices, only one and Christ was that one sacrifice. In fact not only did He die for our sins but He exchanged our sins for His righteousness. He was righteous and He died for us who were unrighteous making us righteous. He was put to death in the body but He was raised from the dead and then He was in His resurrected body.

Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins on the cross, He came down from heaven and paid the price for our sins once and for all. God didn’t require Jesus to die and then require us to die after that, Jesus death paid for our sins in full. Now we can be free from our sins because Jesus died like one of the worst criminals on a cross. Jesus was (and is) righteousness and He died for us who were unrighteous all because He loved us, the son of God actually died for us sinners! Thank You Jesus.

We should accept Jesus as our savior, we were dead in our sins and there was no way out. But Jesus came and made us alive in the spirit, if we accept Him as our savior we are freed from our sins and saved from death. If we accept Jesus as our savior He will make us clean and righteous, He will give us red robes of righteousness. When Jesus was buried our sins came with Him but when He rose again our sins stayed in the grave. Jesus died for our sins and we should accept Him as our savior.

If you have accepted Jesus as your savior then you are free from your sins. But if you are a believer then you should do something. Believers should share the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins on the cross with unbelievers, we should tell them the word of God so that they may be saved from their sins just like we have been through Jesus. We should give unbelievers the Gospel so that they can become righteous and cleansed from their sins.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven to die for our sins, thank You for atoning for our sins once and for all. Thank You Jesus for giving us Your word and for loving us enough to die for our sins. Thank You for letting us trust in You, and for making us pure and holy. Thank You for all that You have done for us. Please help us to share the Gospel with unbelievers, thank You for giving us an opportunity to share the Gospel with others.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
