A royal priesthood

Hi, God’s word for me today is in 1 Peter 2:9-10 which says,

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. “

We are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession! That is what Peter is saying in these verses, Peter also points out the Gospel. He says that once we had not relieved mercy but now we have, and we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation and a special possession because Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins. We are made a royal priesthood and a holy nation (and a special possession) etc. by Jesus who shed His blood for us. When we accept Jesus as our savior we are made those things.

Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins so that we could live, Jesus is the son of God and He actually came down from heaven and then died a criminals death on the cross so that we could be saved. Jesus loved us enough to make us a royal priesthood and a holy nation and a special possession etc. Jesus did that for us and now we should accept Him as our savior.

Run to Jesus, ask Him to be your savior. Repent of your sins and become a child of God. Peter says that once we were not a people but now we are the people of God. Once we had not received mercy but now Christ has given us an overflow of mercy, Jesus died for our sins and we should accept Him as our savior. We should accept Him as our savior so that we can be saved and so that we can be the people of God.

We should declare the praises of Him who called us up out of darkness into light. Peter says to do that in verse 9, Jesus is the one who called us up out of darkness and into light. He saved us from the darkness of sin into the light of God, we are now God’s people. We should praise Jesus for dying for our sins and taking our sins on Him (along with God’s wrath) so that we could become God’s children.

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (NIV John 1:12)

Praise God that we have the right to become children of God. Thank You Jesus for giving us that right by taking our sins and God’s wrath on You at the cross. Thank You Jesus for giving us an abundant flow of mercy. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins even though You were perfect, thank You for giving us your perfection in exchange for our sins. Thank You Jesus.
