He took pity on them

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Joel 2:18-19 which says,

18 Then the LORD was jealous for his land
and took pity on his people.

 19 The LORD replied[a] to them:

   “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil,
   enough to satisfy you fully;
never again will I make you
   an object of scorn to the nations”

The Lord had pity on His people, He was jealous for His land, and He was going to send His people new wine and olive oil. He was going to satisfy them fully, and He said that He would never again make them and object of scorn to the nations. He wasn’t ever going to shame them or make them and object of scorn, and He was going to satisfy them, they cried out to God and He answered them. He took pity on them.

The Lord took pity on the Israelites and He took pity on us, we were going to die because of our sins, we were going to have God’s wrath and our sins on us and we were going to die and go to hell. Why? Because we weren’t perfect, because we had sins. The Lord can’t stand sin and that was why we were going to have all of His wrath on us, but a sacrifice came down from heaven to atone for our sins, that sacrifice was perfect and atoned for our sins perfectly. That sacrifice was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself), Jesus Christ was (and is) the Lord and He loved us so much that He died for our sins on a cross. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross.

Jesus came down from heaven to atone for our sins, we should trust in Him and be saved. Jesus loved us so much that He came down from heaven to die for us, we can’t just say “thank You Jesus but I have this one handled, I’m pretty sure that if I work a little harder I can save myself” because if we say that we are rejecting life itself. We should trust in Jesus and be saved by His blood. Jesus loved us so much that He died for us, and now we should love Him to.

“We love because he first loved us” (NIV 1 John 4:19)

We should love Jesus because He first loved us, we should worship Him. We should worship Him as a response from our heart, we should praise and worship Him because He loved us enough to die for our sins even though we were sinners. He took away our sins, thank You Jesus. We should share the Gospel with others, if we don’t then they may never hear the Gospel, they may never hear the good news that Jesus died for our sins. We should read our Bibles and pray, that way we can listen to God’s voice and talk to Him. We should also go to a Gospel church so that you can be encouraged in the Gospel and so that you can be with believers.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven to die for our sins. Thank You Jesus for loving us and for having pity on us and atoning for our sins by taking our sins and God’s wrath off of us and onto You at the cross. Thank You for, after three days in the grave, rising again and then ascending into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate for our sins. Thank You Jesus for everything that You have done for us.

Are You trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
