The day of the Lord

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Joel 2:1-2 which says,

“Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on my holy hill.

Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the LORD is coming.
It is close at hand—
2 a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness.
Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was in ancient times
nor ever will be in ages to come.”

Joel is talking about the day of the Lord, Joel is saying that the day of the Lord is coming and that they should repent of their sins so that they could be saved from God’s wrath. If they didn’t repent then they would die from their sins and Joel was trying to save them by telling them of the day of the Lord so that they could repent.

We were just like the Israelites, we were going to have God’s wrath on us and we were going to die because of our sins. We were going to die with God’s wrath on us unless we could find a perfect sacrifice that would be willing to die for us, but there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice in the whole world. But a sacrifice came down from heaven to atone for or sins, that a sacrifice was Jesus who is the son of God! Jesus came down from heaven to become a man and die for our sins, thank You Jesus.

Jesus died for our sins so that we could live, we need to accept Him as our savior so that we can live. If we don’t we will have God’s wrath on us and we will die in our sins. So we should accept Jesus as our savior so that we won’t have God’s wrath on us. If you haven’t trusted in Jesus as your savior then why don’t you? Dear Jesus, please help me to trust in You, please come into my heart and save me. In Jesus’ name amen.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV John 3:16)

Jesus loved us enough to die for our sins and we should love others. If we love them we will share the Gospel with them, we should share the Gospel with them so that they can be saved. We should also pray and read the Bible, also we should listen to others. If you are an unbeliever then you should listen to the warning of the scriptures, and believers (like Joel) should warn others to accept Jesus as their savior. So we should trust in Jesus and meditate on the Gospel (I mean we should think on the Gospel, not sit and say “om”) and we should share the Gospel with unbelievers. We should also pray and read the Bible along with going to a church that preaches the Gospel.

Thank You Jesus for humbling Yourself so much that You became a man and thank You that You lived a perfect life for us. Thank You Jesus for being beaten beyond recognition and thank You for dying for our sins. Thank You for, after You were buried and in the tomb for three days, rising again and thank You for ascending into heaven to mediate on our behalf and to prepare a place for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
