Grain offerings and drink offerings

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Joel 1:9 which says,

“Grain offerings and drink offerings
are cut off from the house of the LORD.
The priests are in mourning,
those who minister before the LORD.”

The priests were in mourning, the farmers and vine-growers were wailing, those who drank wine were wailing (at least they were supposed to be). But why? Because they had sinned and because they had sinned the Lord was punishing them by sending locusts to eat everything. Joel is telling the Israelites to repent of their sins as they had before, after sin comes punishment.

The Lord was punishing Israel and we were going to have a punishment too. Death, we were going to die on a cross with God’s wrath and our sins on us. But Jesus the son of God came down from heaven to die for our sins, He loved us enough to die for us and He took God’s wrath and our sins on Him at the cross. Thank You Jesus for loving us enough to come down from heaven and die for our sins after being beaten until no one can recognize You. Jesus loved us enough to die for our sins, thank You so much Jesus.

Jesus came down from heaven so that our sins could be atoned for. So that He could take away our punishment. We should trust in Him and be saved from our sins. Joel was pleading with the Israelites to repent of their sins and we should repent of our sins and come to Jesus as our savior. We should trust in Him as our strong tower, we should believe in Him. If we don’t we are going to die with God’s wrath on us and our sins on us, we need to trust in Jesus to be saved from our sins and God’s wrath.

We as Christians should plead (like Joel) with unbelievers, we should plead with them to repent of their sins. We should spread the Gospel to them, to unbelievers. We should also read our Bibles and pray, we should listen and read God’s word and talk to Him by praying. We should also trust in Jesus, if we don’t trust in Jesus then our faith in Him will becomeĀ Luke-warm or even cold. We should especially meditate on the Gospel, if we don’t meditate on the Gospel then we will lose sight of it. Thank You Jesus.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven and becoming a man, thank You for being beaten beyond recognition for us. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross to save us from our sins and for taking God’s wrath away from us. Thank You Jesus for being buried and then rising on the third day. Thank You Jesus for ascending into heaven and preparing a place for us and for mediating on our behalf, thank You so much Jesus for everything that You have done for us. Especially dying on the cross to save us from our sins.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
