Bitter anger

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Hosea 12:14 which says,

“But Ephraim has aroused his bitter anger;
his Lord will leave on him the guilt of his bloodshed
and will repay him for his contempt.”

Israel turned away from God, Ephraim aroused God’s bitter anger. Because the Lord is just He was going to leave on Ephraim the guilt of his own blood shed, God was going to repay Israel for his contempt. He was going to give them what they deserved, punishment and death. If you sin and arouse God’s anger then you will be re-payed, your guilt will be left on you.

What a perfect picture of us. If we sin and arouse God’s anger without putting our sins on the sacrifice that died for us, then we will die. You see we were sinners in need of a savior, we were going to be destroyed with our sin and our guilt on us but a perfect savior came down from heaven to die for our sins. That savior was (and is) Jesus the son of God (and God Himself), Jesus loved us enough to come and take our guilt off of us and onto Him and to die for our sins on a cross.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (NIV John 15:13)

Jesus not only laid down His life for His friends, He laid down His life for His enemies, us. We rejected Jesus at first, but Jesus still died for us and now we should accept Him.

As a Christian we are covered by Jesus’ blood and God cannot charge us. Jesus took away our sin and God’s wrath, thank You Jesus. We have the guilt of bloodshed just like the pharisees did because they crucified Christ, but Jesus said “father forgive them, they do not know what they are doing” and He was not only the sacrifice for those who crucified Him but for us. Thank You Jesus.

Christians should do something though. We should trust in Jesus and when we are temped to start doing good works to make our consciences feel better we should run to Jesus, we should trust in Him. We should also share the Gospel with others. We should want to try to help save unbelievers. We should Praise and worship Jesus as our savior. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins.

Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins, thank You for coming down from heaven because You loved us. Thank You for letting us be able to trust in You, thank You for rising again and ascending into heaven to mediate for us and to prepare a place for us. Thank You for being our savior and for giving us Your word so that we can know how to live according to Your word. Thank You for making us son and daughters of God and for taking all of our guilt and sin away. Thank You for dying for us and for everything You have done for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and Truth, Charity Cleveland.
