Cords of human kindness

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Hosea 11:4 which says,

“I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.”

The Lord is now showing His love to the Israelites, and He is telling of how He had before. The Lord is using the example of a little child, He is saying that the Israelites were like His son and He was to them like one who lifts a little child to the cheek. He was showing affection for the Israelites, the Israelites had acknowledged the fact that they had not revered the Lord and after that the Lord is saying that He cannot give them up.

The Lord showed love to the Israelites and His anger for them stopped, and it was the same case with us. The Israelites had sinned against the Lord and we did too. But the Lord loved the Israelites and He loved (and loves) us. In fact He loved us enough to send a perfect sacrifice down from heaven, that sacrifice was Jesus, His only son. Jesus (God’s son) came down from heaven and died on a criminals cross so that we could be treated as (and made to be) God’s sons and daughters, thank You Jesus for loving us enough to die for our sins on a cross.

Christians are sons and daughters of God and we are covered by Jesus. God loves us because Jesus took all of God’s wrath away from us, to the very last drop, and now all we get is God’s love. Thank You Jesus for giving us your righteousness and the right to be sons and daughters of God in exchange for our sins and God’s wrath. Jesus drank the cup of God’s wrath to the last drop, thank You Jesus.

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (NIV Luke 22:42)

But we should do something as Christians. Jesus took all of God’s wrath away from us and onto Him and He gave us His righteousness, thank You Jesus. Jesus bent down from His heavenly position and He became the bread of life just like how He bent down to feed the Israelites, and we should feed on the word by reading it, but we should also share the bread of life with others so that they can live. We should share the Gospel that Jesus came down from heaven and died for our sins then rose from the grave and ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us and to mediate for us. We should share the Gospel and we should praise and worship Jesus as our savior. Thank You Jesus.

Thank You Jesus for coming down from heaven and becoming the bread of life for us, thank you for letting us feed on You (spiritually) . Thank You for dying for our sins so that God’s wrath would be taken away, thank You for loving us enough to sacrifice Yourself for us. Thank You for making us sons and daughters of God and for giving us the opportunity to share the Gospel.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
