Love shown to the people

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Hosea 2:23 which says,

“I will plant her for myself in the land;
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.[a]
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,[b]’ ‘You are my people’;
and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”

This chapter is called “Israel punished and restored”, this is the restoration of Israel. Before this verse happened Israel was punished because they had run after other gods and other people when they really should have been following the one true God. God had helped them out of Egypt and He had helped them to live when they wandered in the desert for 40 years. The Lord had also helped them to get to the promised land, you would think that they would still trust in God, but they didn’t. They followed Baal and all the other gods that wouldn’t do anything for them. But the Lord had mercy on them and after He punished them, He restored them. He brought them back and He loved then and called them His people. The Lord was merciful to the Israelites.

The Lord was merciful to them and He was merciful to us. We had strayed away from the one true God and we were going to die because of our sins, but the Lord saved us by sending a sacrifice down that would atone for our sins perfectly. That sacrifice was Jesus Christ, His son. Jesus came down from heaven, because He loved us, and died for our sins on a cross. Jesus actually loved us enough to die for our sins, thank You so much Jesus. Jesus was (and is) perfect and even though He could have stayed in heaven, He came down to atone for our sins.

Jesus loved us so much to die for us, even though we were not loved He loved us and even though we weren’t His people He made us His people. Jesus made us sons and daughters of God all we have to do is trust in Him. If we don’t trust in Jesus we will not be saved and we will not be called the sons and daughters of God. As Christians we are safe in Jesus Christ, He saved us from our sins and He made us sons and daughters of God, thank You Jesus.

Christians do something though. Like I said we need to trust in Jesus Christ and we need to praise and worship Him. Praise is what should come out of our hearts because of what Jesus has done for us. We should also share the Gospel with those around us, we were saved by Jesus Christ and others should be too. Thank You so much Jesus for loving us enough to come down from heaven and die for sinners, thank You for dying for your enemies (us). Thank You Jesus for making us sons and daughters of God when You died for us.

Praise Jesus that He loved us enough to die for us. Thank God that we can be called the people of God and the children of God. Thank You Jesus for giving us your righteousness and taking our sins away from us.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (NIV 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus became sin by taking our sins on Him, and He made us the righteousness of God by giving us all of His righteousness. Thank You Jesus.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
