Hi, God’s word for me today is in Hosea 1:7 which says,
“Yet I will show love to Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but I, the LORD their God, will save them.”
The Israelites had rebelled against the Lord and the Lord found no reason to save Israel (although in the next chapter Israel is restored). But in this verse it says that the Lord would show love to Judah and save Judah, but the Lord wasn’t going to save Judah by the bow the sword or by battle or anything like that. The Lord was going to save Judah but His (the Lord’s) own power. The Lord was going to love Judah and because He was going to love Judah He was going to save Judah.
The Lord saved Judah because He loved Judah and the Lord saved us because He loved (and loves) us. We were going to die because of our sins but the Lord loved us so much that He sent a sacrifice that would atone for our sins, He sent His son. Jesus Christ was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself) and He loved us enough to (temporarily) humble Himself and leave heaven and even to become a man. But that isn’t all, Jesus humbled Himself enough to die for us on a cross with our sins and God’s wrath on Him. Jesus humbled Himself so much that He took our place on the cross so that we could become sons and daughters of God. Thank you Jesus.
Jesus came down from heaven to atone for our sins. We just have to accept His sacrifice, if we don’t accept His sacrifice then we will die with our sins and God’s wrath on us. But if we do we become pure and holy and we become sons and daughters of God. Jesus died so that we could live, He died for us so that we would turn from beauty to ashes. We should accept His sacrifice.
We also need to trust in Jesus. Judah was going to be saved by God, not by horses or chariots or bow or anything like that, Judah had to trust in something that they couldn’t see. Judah had to trust in God, and so do we because if we don’t we will be lost but if we do we will be saved by Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus.
Praise Jesus Christ for humbling Himself so much that He died for our sins. Praise Jesus that He took our sins and gave us His righteousness, that He made us pure and clean and holy. Thank You Jesus for living in us and making us a new creation in You by dying on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus for making us sons and daughters of God, thank you for becoming a man and then dying on a cross. Even though You were perfect you took our sins on you and sacrificed Yourself.
Are you trusting in Jesus Christ?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
