Yet he will be destroyed

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Daniel 8:25 which says,

“He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.”

Daniel had another vision and it was of a ram that had two horns (those horns signified the kings of Media and Persia), that ram was unable to be destroyed by any animal. But then a flying goat with one horn came and destroyed it (that was the king of Greece), then that horn fell off and four more horns came up (those were four kingdoms that came out of Greece). But one horn sprouted out of another (that was an evil and deceitful king) and that king is what the man who Daniel met is explaining. That king was going to think (this is talking about the future) that he could rule the world, and he would for a while. He even thought that he could destroy the Prince of princes (God), but that king was going to be destroyed, and not by human hands. The Lord was going to rescue His people just like He did every time.

The Lord was going to rescue His people and now we are His people and He has already rescued us. In fact that is how we are His people, because He rescued us. We were sinners that were going to die because of our sins unless we could find a perfect sacrifice, and Jesus was that sacrifice. Jesus was (and is) perfect and He was (and is) the son of God. But He came down from heaven to take our sins and God’s wrath on Him at our place on the cross, He died for our sins and made us sons and daughters of God. Thank You Jesus!

As Christians we are sons and daughters of God and we get Jesus Christ as our inheritance. We don’t have the shame of sin and death, we have eternal life. It is much better to be a Christian because we get Jesus Christ as our satisfaction. We don’t have sin which promises us satisfaction but instead brings us guilt, we have Jesus who is our satisfaction, thank You Jesus.

But Christians do actually do something, we praise God and we share the Gospel with others even if it means we die for the Gospel. We should praise God for all that He has done for us, and we should have a testimony to the Gospel. Jesus died for our sins because He loved us and we should love Him enough to worship and praise Him. It should be our immediate response that comes from our heart.

Thank You Jesus for giving up you life and heaven to come down and die as an atoning sacrifice for sinners. Praise God that Jesus gave up (temporarily) being king in heaven to be meek and lowly on earth and then to even be a sacrifice for sinners. For us, His enemies, He died. Thank You Jesus.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
