Hi, God’s word for me today is in Daniel 5:20 which says,
“But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.”
Daniel is talking to Nebuchadnezzar’s son who is now king and he was going to interpret a writing that had appeared on the wall. Daniel is saying that Belshazzar (who was the current king) had not humbled himself like Nebuchadnezzar had done after he had become an animal and that he needed to humble himself. That very night Belshazzar was taken over by Darius of the Medes. Daniel was telling the king of what had happened to his dad, but Belshazzar still didn’t listen.
Nebuchadnezzar was deposed from the royal throne and stripped of his glory because of his pride and arrogance. That is like Jesus (except for the pride and arrogance) because Jesus came down from his royal throne and stripped Himself of glory so that we could live. He temporarily left heaven so that He could come down and atone for our sins.
Because Jesus died for us He gave us His glory. Before we only had the shame of sin but when Jesus died He took that on Him and He gave us His righteousness and His glory. He exchanged His glory and righteousness for all of our shame and sin and for God’s wrath so that He could save our lives by dying on the cross for us.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (NIV 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Jesus did that for us, it is much better to be a Christian and accept Jesus as our Lord and savior.
We should now accept the glory Christ has given us. We should also share the Gospel with others, we should share the glory of God with others. We have gone from “ashes to beauty” and we should share that with others. We should also praise and worship Jesus as our savior.
Jesus gave us His glory in exchange for our sin, praise God for what He has done for us thank you so much Jesus for dying for our sins and being our atoning sacrifice. Thank You Jesus for giving us Your glory in exchange for our sins. Thank You for changing us from ashes to beauty.
Are you trusting in Jesus as your atoning sacrifice?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
