An eternal dominion

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Daniel 4:34 which says,

“At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.  His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation.”

At the beginning of this passage Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and all his magicians and sorcerers couldn’t interpret his dream, so he asked Daniel to interpret it. Daniel said that like the tree in his dream Nebuchadnezzar was going to be brought down among the animals and after seven times he would acknowledge the Lord, Daniel advised the king that he should repent of his sin if he didn’t want this to happen to him but after twelve months Nebuchadnezzar was prideful and the Lord chased him away from his kingdom and he ate grass like an ox and his hair grew like wings of an eagle and his nails became like the claws of a bird. But at the end of his time he raise his eyes to heaven and his sanity was restored and so was his kingdom, and instead of lifting himself up he lifted God up and he praised God. The Lord humbled Nebuchadnezzar from his pride.

The Lord first gave Nebuchadnezzar a dream or a warning but Nebuchadnezzar was still prideful so the Lord humbled him by making him like an animal. After that Nebuchadnezzar praised God. The Lord not only humbled Nebuchadnezzar but He humbled Himself (not because He needed to) to save us from our sins. We were sinners that needed a perfect savior, but there wasn’t a perfect human or animal in the whole entire world so we were going to die. But Jesus was perfect and He humbled Himself not only to become a man but to die a criminals death on a criminals cross and He did it because He loved us, He loved us enough to save us from our sins by taking our sins and God’s wrath on Him at the cross. Thank you Jesus.

Christ’s dominion is an eternal dominion and we are sons and daughters of king Jesus if we accept Him as our savior. Jesus saved us from our sins we just have to accept Him as our savior, as believers we have Jesus as our king and our savior but unbelievers don’t have a savior they are dead in their sins, but Jesus makes us alive if we believe in Him.

Believers do have something to do though, we should praise God and we should be like Jesus. He is living in our hearts and He is making us more like Him. Also we should share the Gospel with those around us, thank You Jesus for being our savior and for living in our hearts.

Praise God for everything He has done. Nebuchadnezzar praised God after he became sane and we should praise God for dying for us on the cross and for helping us in everything we do. Thank You Jesus for dying for our sins and being our savior, thank You for letting us trust in you as our king.

Have you accepted Jesus as your savior?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
