Sprinkle clean water

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 36:25 which says,

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.”

In this chapter the Lord is telling the Israelites that they were going to be restored. The Israelites had sinned, and because of that the Lord made them scatter among the nations, but as a verse in this chapter says the Lord’s name was ridiculed because the Lord’s people were not in the Lord’s land, so the Lord brought His people back to Israel but in the chapter the Lord says that the reason He brought them back and sprinkled clean water on them was only to make His name holy. But the Lord did restore the Israelites and He gave them new hearts and new minds so that when they realized that they had sinned they would not turn away from the Lord.

The Lord had mercy on His people Israel and He restored them. The Lord also restored us to what we might of thought was the point of no return, but the difference is that the Lord restored Israel to make His name (as it should be) holy among the nations. But with us the Lord came down from heaven to atone for our sins for a different reason.

Jesus came down from heaven to die for our sins on a cross, which was reserved for the worst of criminals. Jesus actually came down from heaven for us, and the reason was because He loved us. He loved us enough to die for our sins on the cross, He loved us enough to give up (temporarily) reigning as king in heaven to come down and die for us on a cross. But it doesn’t stop there, Jesus was buried but on the third day He rose from the grave and ascended into heaven to atone on our behalf.

Jesus loved us enough to die for us and we should love Him enough to worship and praise Him and to share the good news of the Gospel with others. Thank you Jesus for restoring us and giving us a new heart and a new spirit that wants to praise you and not turn away from you.

We should also trust Jesus because He humbled Himself enough to not only become a man (as Hebrews says a little lower than the angels) but to die a criminals death on the cross. That’s how much He loves us, He loves us with agape love, and that was why He experienced God’s wrath for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
