Hello, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 31:18 which says,
“‘Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.
“‘This is Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the Sovereign LORD.’”
Alright, Pharaoh and all his hordes were just like Assyria, they were full of pride and they thought that they were the best nation and would be able to do anything because of their money. They were wrong, the Lord was going to bring them down just like He brought Assyria, because of their sin and the fact that they didn’t trust in the Lord meant that they were going to be destroyed. They were going to be brought down.
Just like them we were going to be brought down because of our sins, like them we were sinners and we were going to die. We couldn’t become perfect and we didn’t have a perfect sacrifice so just like the Egyptians we were going to be destroyed, but that is why God provided that sacrifice that would atone for our sins.
God sent a sacrifice that was perfect and that would take away all of our sins, and that sacrifice was Jesus Christ who is the son of God (and God Himself). Jesus died for our sins on a cross and He took all of our sins on Him along with God’s wrath and He took our place on the cross. We deserved to die but Jesus died for us, He actually came down from heaven lived a perfect life was beaten beyond recognition and then He was crucified.
Why would the son of God die for us? That is the question we should answer now, we now how He died for us but we don’t know why Jesus died for us. But the answer is in John 3:16 which says,
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV)
Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins on a criminals cross. The people He died to save crucified Him and Jesus response to that was “father forgive them, for they don’t now what they are doing” He loved us so much that He died for us. Thank you so much Jesus.
Now we should worship Him as our savior and we should share the Gospel with others.
Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
